Navigating GDPR in the Cloud
For many companies, hosting in Europe is no longer enough. If your infrastructure provider is still subject to non-EU jurisdiction, your data and workloads may ultimately fall under foreign legislation outside European control.
Webdock is built differently.
We operate Danish (EU)-owned infrastructure, run our own platform stack, and focus on giving companies predictable, transparent infrastructure without hyperscaler complexity or dependency. Whether you're running SaaS platforms, AI workloads, internal systems, or customer-facing applications, we believe infrastructure should remain simple, performant, and under clear European jurisdiction with a stronger foundation for data sovereignty and operational control.
European cloud control, side by side
AWS, Azure, and Google are powerful platforms, but their global ownership and operating models often introduce extra legal, contractual and operational layers. Webdock offers a simpler European alternative.

The foundation for your compliance
For companies working under GDPR, NIS2, ISO 27001, or customer security reviews, infrastructure documentation matters. Webdock provides EU cloud infrastructure with clear data residency, documented subprocessors, access control principles, backup practices, and operational security measures, the infrastructure transparency and documentation needed to support your internal compliance process.
Our Danish datacenter, European jurisdiction, predictable infrastructure model, and direct operational control make Webdock a practical alternative for companies that want more clarity than they typically get from hyperscaler environments.
Audit-ready infrastructure
Our datacenters operate inside highly secure facilities that provide the physical and environmental controls regulated industries expect from internationally recognized information security standards.
Modern cloud architecture
A high-performance alternative to legacy enterprise virtualization platforms, delivering the isolation and security controls regulated industries require, without the overhead and complexity of older hypervisor stacks.
Documentation for your auditors
Verifiable, auditable cloud compliance documentation covering data residency, access controls, subprocessor safety, and encryption standards, together with the contractual artifacts published in our legal documentation. Learn more in our DK-DC1 datacenter overview.

FAQ
Compliance questions buyers ask first
Yes. Webdock provides the secure, transparent infrastructure foundation you need. We supply documentation on data residency, physical security and access controls that your auditors will require for your own information security certification or independent service-organization assurance report.
Some foreign legal regimes, most notably the US Cloud Act, may allow authorities to compel companies under their jurisdiction to hand over customer data, regardless of where that data is physically stored. Because Webdock is a Danish company with no US parent and all servers are located in Denmark, our European private cloud infrastructure sits outside the reach of the US Cloud Act and similar third-country regimes, operating purely under EU law and GDPR. Additional detail on our legal frameworks, datacenter operations, and sustainability posture is available in our ESG documentation.
No. Webdock offers a modern, high-performance alternative to traditional hypervisor stacks. We use advanced container and KVM-based virtualization technologies that deliver the same level of security and isolation, with significantly better performance and lower complexity.
Inside our owned datacenter in Nørre Aaby, Denmark (DK-DC1), a GDPR-compliant European facility designed around secure information management, redundant power, and network paths, advanced network architecture, and environmentally conscious operations. All primary customer data is stored and processed within the EEA. Where any subprocessors are involved, these are subject to strict data protection compliance and documented in our subprocessor list. We do not transfer your data outside the EEA without a lawful basis and appropriate safeguards in place. Full facility details are available in our DK-DC1 datacenter overview.
Yes. We provide a comprehensive DPA, a sovereign cloud data processing agreement governed by EU data protection laws. It is generated in your Account Area on signup and includes clearly defined data localization, liability boundaries, documented breach notification windows, subprocessor transparency, and contact details for our Data Protection Officer, so procurement and enterprise legal review move quickly with minimal redlining.
Yes. Our agreements are designed as procurement-ready cloud contracts with clean legal definitions, subprocessor safety commitments and auditable compliance documentation. Combined with EU-only infrastructure and no automated data transfers outside the EU, this gives legal and compliance teams a clear, defensible baseline for compliance-heavy cloud workloads and ongoing compliance reviews.
Webdock is built around GDPR compliance as a baseline. Our Danish jurisdiction, EU-only data residency, and physical infrastructure transparency make us a clean, low-friction vendor entry for organizations operating under Europe's broader regulatory landscape, including those preparing for NIS2 obligations, DORA operational resilience requirements, and PSD2 payment-services regulation. We do not claim certification under these frameworks on your behalf. What we provide is the sovereign, auditable infrastructure foundation that your compliance and legal teams need to satisfy their own obligations: documented data residency, physical security controls, a GDPR-aligned DPA, subprocessor transparency, and a Danish legal framework that sits outside the reach of third-country surveillance laws. For a tailored review of how Webdock fits your specific regulatory requirements, contact our team directly.
Our infrastructure sits in Denmark, inside the European Union, so workloads run on EU-based cloud infrastructure under EU law from day one. That reduces reliance on third-country data transfers and the supplementary measures Schrems II expects from controllers exporting personal data outside the EEA. Combined with our European private cloud infrastructure, transparent datacenter operations and renewable-energy commitments documented in our ESG overview, Webdock gives regulated teams a clean, Schrems II-aligned foundation for GDPR-compliant cloud hosting and EU data residency.
Webdock is GDPR compliant by design and provides supporting documents including our Privacy Policy, Privacy Impact Assessment, Third-Party Information Sharing report and Transparency Report. A DPA is available in your account, and you can even generate an example DPA for use between you and your own clients.
