Here Webdock Support will continuously add the most frequently asked questions by our customers related to our Xeon server hosting. Usually if you have a question you will find an answer here. The questions are ranked in the order in which they are most frequently asked.
Yes, root is yours. The only thing we leave off is direct root login with a password, because that is both silly and insecure. Sign in as your Webdock sudo user and elevating to root takes a second, and you can re-enable root password auth yourself if you insist. The quickest shell is using our Web SSH terminal, and your own SSH client works just as well. Please click here for an overview of all our SSH guides.
On top of our Perfect Server stacks, the Webdock Control Panel already covers the everyday essentials of running a web server. It overlaps with a lot of what cPanel does, but it is not built for shared hosting, meaning many separate sites on one VPS, read more about why here. If shared hosting is what you need, or a feature we have not built yet, you can install one of the third party control panels we support, cPanel included.
DDOS filtering runs in several tiers and the whole infrastructure is monitored in depth around the clock, so we can often warn you about a hack while it is happening. Defaults are secure, and components such as FTP can be switched off with the scripts in the Webdock control panel.
Yes. Move up or down whenever you like from the Upgrade/Downgrade screen in Webdock, no ticket needed. Profile changes usually apply straight away, though occasionally a reboot is triggered. Disk is the one exception: it can be grown but never shrunk.
Every server ships with its own dedicated, clean, IPv4 address plus an IPv6 address space.
Yes, every machine belongs to Webdock and runs in the modern datacenter we built ourselves in Nørre Aaby, Denmark, the Webdock DK-DC1. The network equipment and IP blocks are ours too.

No. The supported operating systems are Ubuntu, AlmaLinux, CentOS, and Debian and custom VPS images cannot be uploaded, so you always start from one of ours.
Billing is deliberately relaxed. A new server costs nothing for its first 24 hours, and deleting one at any point refunds the unused time down to the day, immediately. Nothing is locked in and no prepayment is lost. Read more about Billing & Pricing
