A 100% Renewable Energy Datacenter in Denmark
Our data center in Denmark runs on 100% certified renewable electricity from wind, solar and hydropower as part of our documented ESG framework.
We do not rely on offsets, or hide behind vague “carbon neutral” claims. We buy verified green energy directly from the grid and document it transparently.
That means every server running at Webdock is powered by CO₂-free electricity under EU regulation and Danish energy standards.
Energy-Efficient Infrastructure by Design
Our energy efficiency is achieved through our design decisions. Our facility is built to minimize waste at every layer. Cooling is optimized through advanced airflow management and free cooling using outside ambient air. Excess heat from the server room is reused to heat office facilities, and our cooling system runs in a closed loop without consuming new water.
The result of all this is lower energy consumption per server and a smaller footprint per customer.
Circular Hardware Economy
Hardware is one of the biggest hidden climate costs in cloud hosting. We treat it accordingly.
- ~90% of our hardware is refurbished or recycled
- Extended hardware lifecycles without sacrificing performance
- Take-back and reuse programs with suppliers
- Target: 95% circular hardware by 2030
This significantly reduces e-waste and Scope 3 emissions.
CO₂ Transparency
We report our emissions across Scope 1, 2 and 3 using the GHG Protocol.
That includes energy consumption, hardware procurement, suppliers, software services and transport. This gives us a real baseline to improve from instead of a marketing-friendly estimate.
On average, a Webdock server accounts for approximately 61.7 kg CO₂e per year.
You can review the full breakdown, methodology and assumptions in our ESG report.
Owning the Datacenter Changes Everything
We do not resell capacity from hyperscalers, we built our own data center, operate our own hardware and control our own network.
That means no hidden dependencies, no opaque supply chains and no outsourced responsibility.
Our infrastructure includes private peering with major providers, datacenter-level DDoS protection, redundant battery systems and diesel backup.
Governance Under EU Law
Webdock is a 100% independent Danish company and all data is governed by EU law and GDPR by default. This matters for compliance, procurement, risk management and long-term trust.
If your business needs infrastructure that aligns with European regulation and values, this is not a detail. It is foundational.
We invest in fair working conditions across regions, pay above local market standards and design our organization for long-term sustainability, not burnout.
We also support education and entrepreneurship by providing free infrastructure to universities and students worldwide and contributing to open-source communities.

Certified by EWII Energy A/S
Webdock is officially certified by EWII Energi A/S, confirming that 100% of our electricity consumption is sourced from renewable energy including wind, solar and hydropower.
The certification verifies that we have purchased renewable energy certificates covering our full electricity usage for the period 2026–2030, corresponding to 3,000,000 kWh of green electricity.
The verification process is audited and validated by Energinet and PwC, ensuring full traceability and compliance under Danish and EU energy standards.
This certification is a core part of our documented ESG reporting and forms the basis for our Scope 2 emissions accounting.
