Protecting Your Domain with Basic Auth

Last updated July 23, 2026

Ever want to password protect your whole website or just a sensitive website path without touching server configuration files? You are in the right place.

A new feature we released helps you set up Basic Auth, right from the Webdock dashboard.

Setup Instructions

Click on the pencil icon near the Site Web Root field on the server screen.

Then lookout for the “Basic Auth (Password Protect your Domain)”, situated at the bottom.

Here enter the path of the website (with credentials) you want to protect, like, for example, /wp-admin, if you want to add an additional layer of secuity with basic auth for your WordPress website. You can even restrict access to your entire site by inputting just “/” in the path field.

That’s it. Hope this helps keep your sites and admin areas secure! 🙂
